I've finished the last piece from the boards I found! It will be hanging up at Nataraja Healing Arts.
Since I've had some free time and lots of good ideas, I was able to finish one of the boards I recently found. The pictures aren't very good, so I'll try to get some better ones up this weekend. Enjoy!
The things we need most in life tend to appear at just the right moment, even if they take their time getting here. I'm not going to lie, life has been more stressful than usual and money is tight. Times like these seem to be a muse for art, but not having a canvas can cause a block in the creative system. While walking the dogs yesterday I found my canvas! It's truly amazing what some people throw in the trash. I saw these boards sticking out of the bins on the side of my apartment. Come to find out they're old skateboards. This picture was taking after I sanded them down, but the two small ones seem to be homemade skateboards, and the one in the middle is a more traditional one that had a graphic on it before I sanded it off. The wood has a lot a of character to it, so I'm hoping I can incorporate it into the piece. Hopefully over the next few days I'll make a little progress on these and share.
In the mean time, if you don't have money and materials, just take a walk through your neighborhood, try to create with the things around you and please share with the world the awesome things you create. |
